Hyatt Yoga Facilitator - On-Call in TUCSON, Arizona

Description:
Under the general direction of the Director of Program Operations and the Yoga/Meditation Supervisor a Yoga/Meditation Instructor is responsible for instructing various levels of/hatha/yoga classes and related yoga and meditation offerings. Teach one/one sessions of yoga and meditation. Participate fully in the functioning of the yoga/meditation department and the resort organization. Ensure a high quality guest experience at Miraval.
Essential Functions: * Facilitate classes and one-on-one sessions as outlined in the SOP’s. * Assist in maintaining all equipment. * Participate in demo classes for new hires. * Assist in training new team members with all aspects of teaching Yoga/Meditation/Mindfulness offerings at Miraval. * Assist in developing new yoga programs, curriculum changes, and improvements to existing programs. * Assist in managing one-on-one availability. * Track class attendance. * Fulfills marketing requests (ie: article requests, blog posts, etc.) * Other duties as requested.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimal 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification, 500 hours preferable. At least 2 years of prior teaching experience with various populations. Proficient knowledge of Miraval Philosophy and Mindfulness Applications.
  • 2 years prior experience with management preferred as well as experience with educational programming and personal holistic practice

    LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization. Ability to provide clear communication to team members.

    REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Ability to perform requirements of instructing yoga and meditation related activities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, grasp, push, bend, and sit. Employee must have the ability to stand and walk during entire shift. Free of physical limitations and capable of leading multiple classes per day.

    The associate frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
